'0 seconds remaining' on UE 5.6 for Hours.

Have a UE 5.6 download issue where my download has been stuck like this for hours.

I’ve tried

  • restarting my PC
  • clearing my EpicGames and UnrealEditor cache and Local folders
  • temporarily disabling my Avast Free Antivirus
  • restarting the download
  • Verifying the 5.5.4 download
  • changing the download directory

I’m having the same issue, what happened with yours?

I found it i had the same problem so i went to my folders i deleted all folders and reinstall it but DON’T PAUSE OR CLOSE EPIC GAMES WHILE ITS DOWNLOADING cause thats causing the problem just let it run until its finished

I also encountered a similar phenomenon in UE4.23, but after several start and stop cycles it went into verification.

I have the same problem for 2 days and I can’t solve this problem, have you found any solution?

So I was having this issue and from what I can tell it is actually still installing but the installer is broken and shows 0 write speeds. For me this was happening as I was installing it on a slower HDD so it finished downloading and then took a while to catch up writing it all onto the drive. You can use Task Manager to make sure it is actually writing to the drive but for me after waiting a while for it to finish, it moved on to verifying.
