More Detailed Shadows... Need help with seting up lighting and shadows

Hi,

I’m currently working on my very first unreal project, I built the lighting multiple times and tried different settings each time, but still the shadows don’t look as good as would like them to be.

here are a few screen shots after building lighting:

help would be much appreciated

Try increasing the floor and wall lightmap resolution. With all those fine details you’re probably gonna need to try with 1024 or even 2048 I think.

or fake it with decals!

Good way))

an expensive way for having a better shadow feedback is use stationary or movable light, just on this wall
I have a blind where i used one movable light for have perfect shadows casting the roof, floor and room on a project i’m doing, this was the only way i found for achieve this effect and kinda fakeing it.

Yup, with real time you gotta fake a lot more things, particularly any unique special case scenarios like this.

Light functions or real time shadows would probably be the best way to do this.

Instead of making a light moveable, make the wall moveable and keep the light as a stationary light.
