FBX mesh fails to import (no hierarchy?)

Hi again, this time im here with an other problem.
i have been modeling a building in blender and i am trying to import it to the engine.
when i select the fbx file and press import a window appears saying that the mesh couldn’t be imported and then i get the output errors .What am i doing wrong? Also, what is hierarchy?

OUTPUT ERRORS:
Mesh Mesh in the FBX file is not reference by any hierarchy node

2 possible problems. First you don’t select your model in blender but under FBX export you check SELECTED OBJECTS. This will instantly give you an error as you are trying to Import nothing. Second is unlikely but you added a bone but didn’t assign it to the mesh with weight painting. His will give a different error though.

Hope this helps.

checked to see if any of these were true:
unluckily, there aren’t any of the above problems. I’m starting to think that the file might be corrupted. I’ll continue examining this.

Feel free to send me the file if you are still struggling. You can send it to test@cryonetic.com

Having the same issue, here is my workaround:

Just export your mesh as FBX 2014.

It is the preferred format for importing meshes in Unreal.

I just realized I had been exporting with my default set to FBX 2016 for a while (without any issue until now)
I hope it helps.
