Import sockets from MAX to static mesh

so i found some info, that you can import sockets with static mesh, if you create dummies/points in 3ds max, naming them SOCKET_socketname
but all the export options i tried, didn’t work
i have tooo much points to manage them in socket manager in UE

i need exactly static mesh, and not a skeletal mesh socket data
thank you in advance!

Hi!

You need parenting dummy to mesh.

having same problem but tried everything you specified at screenshots

One thing which is really unclear in the documentation. A “Dummy Object” is a special type of primitive in 3DS Max, found under “Helpers” in the Create tab.
It is not just a random object (e.g. a box) being used as a dummy to represent the position of the socket.

Just adding this piece of information here in case anyone else gets stumped by that, as this is the top search result for static mesh socket import issues.

idk what the heck settings changed or what happened but i have to make sure the dummies have SOCKET_ in the beginning or it wont work.
No parenting needed.
