Wrap your Element inside a Scale Box (not Size Box!) in the Details Panel you can specify how it should behave. Scale to Fit for example will keep the Aspect Ratio. Fill would stretch it on all sides. Read the Tooltip on the Options and Scale it around to See what happens.
