I downloaded the windows installer after paying for the engine but it wont open. it says “unrealenginelauncher.exe - application error” " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." i dont understand. ? also the source code wasn’t on github.

You might need to uninstall the Launcher, redownload and reinstall. Let us know if you have any problems after that and we can investigate further.
To access the source code on Github, you need to make sure your Github account is linked to EpicGames. The instructions for that are here:

I have downloaded the installer yet no luck… still wont install properly.

I found the solution! Go here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/…x?id=40784 and download the installer. Uninstall and dont repair. Then reinstall.

We believe that Spazmortis is correct, and that you’ll need to install the latest vs2013 redistributable which you can find here: Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download Center. You should uninstall any previous installations of the redistributable. Thanks again!
