It’s not dumb. But again, landscape splines are locked out of any important function so it is “by design”. You can only access them from editing the landscape and they serve no useful purpose / hopefully get removed.
Obviously you can. Have you ever herd of this mystical thing called a search engine? It’ll give you precise answers in a split second…
Bar that, even the search function on the forum would.
While at it, look up Bluetility in it. It would probably help you with the “update when modify” on other things - keeping in mind its editor only (so not for gameplay).
And no, I do not remember what the completely arbitrary function name for it is, that’s why you (or anyone interested) should just look it up…
Why are you using these forums to ask questions that have already been answered multiple times? And which you can answer yourself with a simple google search?
The problem is that YOU are using the forum wrong. Not that I tell you as much.
There is no “constructive discourse” to be had on this topic - and yet you even resurrected it…
prove it. google search me the answer. or even search these forums

i always search thoroughly before coming here. searching is how i got here. does that make sense?
this topic was veering towards the answers i needed. and i didn’t resurrect it. it was only 3 days since the last reply when i replied. and why would that even matter if helped me or someone else?
so google the answer on how to set up a spline component to deform terrain like a landscape spline does. this includes how to get all the references you need to a blutility… i’m guessing you cant. because what I’ve found is that EDITOR APPLY SPLINE has been bugged since 5.6 and doesn’t work like a landscape spline anymore. yes it can apply terrain deformation. but it cant reverse it when you move/delete the spline. and before that it was bugged from 5.1-5.5 with a different bug that made it not work at all.
And also 5.Anything is irrelevant to the conversation as a whole since in spite of Epic it’s not an engine anyone uses for production - nor is it an engine that was particularly in use when the original question was asked since it was specifically 5.7. Same answer as then persists.
You do not use “landscape splines”.
Nor was it ever said anywhere that you need to be able to undo the changes of a spline on the fly. You don’t. You re-load the original heightmap and re-deform all the splines (If you did things right, this means you access and click one button then wait for compute).
It’s this little thing called “work” which I understand most people like you must be allergic to… It still beats the alternative too since it’s way less work than any other option you may have… so again. Irrelevant.
