Virtuverse (a sci-fi mmorpg) is looking for more members to join its team

Project Title:
Virtuverse

Description:
Virtuverse, in its current form, is both a PaaS gaming platform and its first title which is a sci-fi MMORPG.

Virtuverse aims to blur the borders between online gaming verticals allowing for cross-genre play with one character. With very character-development driven gameplay and open community-based story-telling, Virtuverse will be a different online gaming experience than you’re used to.

We’re getting close to our open Alpha launch now, so join us on this pretty awesome ride! We’re incubated by thegameincubator (https://thegameincubator.se/) who have incubated a few awesome studios (Landfall, Stunlock, Coffee Stain).

Team Name:
Virtuverse

Talent Required:

  • Community Manager
  • 3D Character/Organic Artist
  • 2D Concept Artist
  • C++ / Blueprints Gameplay Programmer

Compensation:
We’re still pre-revenue and pre-funding so the roles are currently unpaid, but we’re aiming to bring people on full-time or part-time (depending on availability) with full pay in the near future, rates will be dependant on funding and budget per department. ESOP schemes will be in place in the near future also, backdated to the date of joining the project. Fully open to negotiation for exceptional talent.

I’m a little confused by these. This incubator what kind of support do they give you? The project looks relatively professional and large in scope, however, it unpaid not even royalties. I understand that some people may work for free to add work to their portfolio or for fun. You could not reasonably expect to get anyone good or longterm.

Sorry! I missed a section completely off my post, In terms of compensation, people are currently brought on under a contract which will convert to a full, or part, time role upon the securing of funding, with additional backfilled options/equity at that point.

The incubator itself doesn’t provide financial support directly, though they do have an amazing network within the gaming industry, local and global investors and publishers also.

I’ll update the original post after this to reflect that
