Hi UE5 Fans,
After several months of developing the story, my new short film “Vessel of Tao” is finally live on YouTube.
This project was a real challenge — especially with Metahuman cloth and hair, which tested my skills and patience. There were many moments of doubt, but I knew I couldn’t give up.
Unreal Engine has once again given me a sense of purpose — a way to express my beliefs and ideas through film. I hope this small contribution can bring a little light to someone who needs it.
Thank you for watching, and thank you to the Unreal community for inspiring me to keep creating.
Cheers.

Hey there @Mark_Chua11,
Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far
Just wanted to pop in and say how charming and wholesome this film is. From beginning to end it felt encouraging, thoughtful, and genuinely well-written. Just brilliant dialogue throughout. Incredible work
Especially with that dragon flight animation - couldn’t have been easy.
Do you plan on making more of these shorts or are you taking a break after this one?

HI @PresumptivePanda
Thanks so much for liking my video.
Yes — I forgot to mention that animating the dragon, especially its whiskers, was a huge challenge for me. At one point, I almost gave up on UE5 because of it!
My goal is to create one short film every month, but realistically, it’s looking more like every two months for now. Every time I finish one, I feel like I’ve run out of ideas — but somehow, the universe keeps giving me little sparks of inspiration. I’m lucky to still be here, making the kind of stories I love.
Thanks again for your support. It really means a lot.
Cheers!

Hello @Mark_Chua11 ! Welcome back to posting with us here on the forums!
I think I remember seeing a small teaser for this a while back. I’m so happy to see that it has fully released and is such a deep thought thought-provoking adventure. Watching the visuals match with the dialogue and going through this journey is something that touches the heart.
I can’t wait to see what you make next!

Hi @deathmachine_121
Yes, thank you so much for your kind suggestion. You’re right — SFX is still one of my weaker areas, and I’m working on it little by little. Grateful for your support and encouragement!
