The problems you’re experiencing, aren’t to do with Evo laptops, they are a problem with laptops generally.
If you don’t tweak the engine settings, it will require a lot of input from the laptop, and that means a lot of power and heat.
There are two areas you can focus your attention on
- Engine settings. The easiest way to get the power usage down, is to reduce the overall engine scalability
I would go to High, rather than Epic. Yes, you get a reduction in quality, but you can always move to Epic to try things out, and switch back to High again.
Also, you might turn off real-time viewport mode
Otherwise the laptop is pumping heat, just to maintain a view of the basic scene, even when you’re not playing.
