Unreal Engine Compatibility Issues on Intel Evo Laptop

The problems you’re experiencing, aren’t to do with Evo laptops, they are a problem with laptops generally.

If you don’t tweak the engine settings, it will require a lot of input from the laptop, and that means a lot of power and heat.

There are two areas you can focus your attention on

  1. Engine settings. The easiest way to get the power usage down, is to reduce the overall engine scalability

I would go to High, rather than Epic. Yes, you get a reduction in quality, but you can always move to Epic to try things out, and switch back to High again.

Also, you might turn off real-time viewport mode

Otherwise the laptop is pumping heat, just to maintain a view of the basic scene, even when you’re not playing.

  1. Get a laptop cooler. This can really help
