I just submitted a third (happens on 4.21.2 but not 4.21.1; assertion error in packaging if in level actor uses Create Canvas 2D Render Target). The spinner is still spinning (after several minutes) so I don’t have a number yet…
I think this is a bug . in 4.19 there is no issue with xapk file and obb validation . But when i build my game in 4.21 and open the game the error appear xapk file validation failed.
Awesome!
Hope these two guys solve my newly introduced AI problems after having switched to 4.21.
Fixed! UE-67239 GitHub 5334 : Fix: Initialize RcNavMeshOrigin in constructor of FRecastNavMeshGenerator
Fixed! UE-67425 GitHub 5350 : FRecastNavMeshGenerator::RcNavMeshOrigin was not initialized on packaged game without ForceRebuildOnLoad
And…two hours later, it’s still spinning. Something wrong with the bug system…
Since I can’t seem to submit a bug report, could someone at Epic look at this bare-bones project that illustrates the bug? Try packaging it for Windows 64…fails with an assertion error.
Thanks.
Hi ,
I just tested the Bug Submission Form myself and it seems to be working. Are you trying to attach any files to your report? We’ve had issues in the past with users being unable to submit bug reports due to unsupported file types.
If you are using any attachments, can you try without?
In the meantime I’ll have someone on my team look into what you’ve reported here.
Thanks,
Sean
The only attachment was a .png but thanks.
Hi ,
Thanks for providing your project. I was able to reproduce this issue and created a report. You can keep track of its status using the link below:
Let me know if you have any other questions about this.
Thanks,
If you’re talking about the window that appears after a crash, I found out the text that is supposed to appear in the bottom is put into the system’s clipboard. If you Ctrl+V on any text editor as soon as the crash happens, it is there. And since knowing this information is available so instantly, I’m pretty sure the spinner taking so long is really a bug.
There are no immediate plans for a third hotfix and fixes will be scheduled for 4.22.
i’ll ditto this… i really must get wolf gurl to do the particle thingy and turn into a wolf (smile)
Hey there,
not sure if I’m at the right adress here, but I have submitted a bug and written a thread about the landscape not contributing to the global distance field - and therefore not being usable for the distanceToNearestSurface node in the material editor. Didn’t find any response of the unreal dev team towards that bug, that it is known or will be fixed or something else, so I thought I write in here to see if you guys know about it.
As it seams that there will be no new hot fix, when does the issue get adressed? Probably when releasing 4.22, which I assume can take one or two months more.
If you’ve submitted a bug report from the form, then the support team will review and provide a response. If they are able to reproduce the issue, they will create a Jira ticket and provide you a link to track the status of it.
Hi,
I recently upgraded to 4.21.2 and my ‘Event OnEndViewTarget’ is no longer triggering when I close my PIE session or any in-editor testing.
Has anybody else had this issue? Is there a setting or workaround? Or should I submit a bug report?
Thanks,
Is that a custom event you created or something in the engine?
Engine Quick Link below:
i can’t find “Debug Canvas in Layer” under the rendering tab or in other tab in 4.21.2… it’s been removed?
it’s there in the 4.19 release
Having trouble running a steam dedicated server with 4.20+. Steamworks says (pertaining to development builds) to create a steam_appid.txt in the exe location with your appid. Doing this with 4.19.2 worked fine…Steam API initialized fine for a dedicated server without the need of the steam client running in the background. But for 4.20+ Steam API failes to initialize. I’m currently trying to debug the engine code (Online Subsystem, et al.) to find out what changed caused the halt.
Anyone else having this trouble?
Just to make a point about how bad the things are, this post was made exactly a month ago. Since then, UE had an hotfix update and new version preview, and the roadmap still hasn’t received a single edit since November 18—full three months ago. Fix it or get rid of it. For anyone who doesn’t follow UE’s development closely, it looks like abandonware; and for anyone who does, it offers no useful information whatsoever.
Does anybody know how to FORCE this (what I have been told is “automatic”) update/Hotfix 4.21.2 to go ahead and UPDATE or HOTFIX?
Automatic?!! NOT SO MUCH,…
