Unreal Editor 5.2.1 refuses to start on MacOS Ventura 13.5

I download Unreal Engine just yesterday on my 13" M1 MacBook Air – at first the editor starts immediately to then notify that the Engine version and the OS version conflicted with each other and that I have to install the latest MacOS update to continue. I did that, but now the Editor is not going to start after the icon goes up and down for a while. I use Verify, but it also doesn’t help. I restarted my laptop, reinstalled it, still didn’t work. And now when I use the Finder tool to look through the content of the UnrealEditor process, this shows up. Does anyone know what’s the problem with my laptop and why it continuously blocks me from accessing the editor?

Hey there @ThomasArvo_D! Welcome to the community! Ventura 13.x is the recommended version, so that’s not likely the issue now. I would instead of verifying the files, fully reinstall from the Epic Games Launcher and see if the log from the launcher settings throws any errors.

It’s showing an error even starting the engine loop and that’s not common unless there’s missing files or the environment itself is blocking the engine process.

I don’t love it, but the solution for me was to run sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer. Hate having to run roughshod on user privileges (never know the unintended consequences), but ¯l_(ツ)_l¯ . Worked after that.
