I had a similar problem and I solved opening the NVIDIA Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage Display Mode and selecting “NVIDIA GPU Only”. Once changed remember to press the Apply button that will appear.
Apparently the “Automatic Select” option, that was my default, stopped working…
