UE-172069 Cloth/Hair Physics going Crazy in MRQ with Temporal AA

Hello there,

Been testing this in UE 5.5.4, still doesn’t appear to be fixed.

As soon as I increase temporal samples, cloth simulation behaves weird.

In my case, it’s rendering almost frozen or flapping around for no reason, even though when simulating in the viewport it appears excellent.

The console command stated above doesn’t work, neither does doubling the frame rate.

Does anyone have any ideas? It’s such a deal breaker to have to use too much motion blur to solve this…

Possible solution

Thank you for replying!

Unfortunately, this doesn’t work as intended, at least for me. Yes, it stops the cloth from flapping around like crazy, but it messes up the simulation quality.

You can see it clearly if you render some frames with cloth simulation without temporal samples, and the same frames with temporal samples and this console command.

In the second scenario, the cloth behaves differently and the quality is bad.
