Training Stream - Extending the Editor - Jan. 20th, 2015

This code looks like it never got released. It looks like it would be a nice example file for us to look at.

was the code released? if yes where to find it?

I would be very interested as well. I wasn’t aware of this and I think the video should be linked in the plugins documentation page at least. It was recently recommended because I’m trying to add parametes to a 3dConnexion spacemouse (like deadzone, per axis behaviour, etc) that one would modify though an editor menu so…

Where can we find it? (the learn tab was the first place I looked but with no results.)

I’d like to also request the sample project. Any chance we’ll be seeing it soon?

Hi all,

I missed this live stream (coming a bit late to the party :P) but am interested in learning how to extend the editor. Is there a recorded version of this stream anywhere?

Thanks,

Any chance could do a follow up to this training class?

I was going through your tutorial on creating editor extensions. It’s a great tutorial and it probably one of the few resources available on the topic. Could you share the source file for “MirrorTool.cpp”? That was the only file that wasn’t shown in the session.

No plans to do a follow up training stream right now though it does seem like a good idea to do a follow up as honestly a lot of stuff in the video is moderately to severely out of date now with Editor Utility Widgets and better ways to script the editor in python and BPs. There’s some cool stuff coming as well for menu extension that makes it way easier than so you don’t have to mess about with FExtender anymore.

The project was originally supposed to be posted on the launcher but it never made it up for one reason or another. I’m going to attach it , but I haven’t touched the sample since the training stream so it’s circa 4.6, caveat emptor. You can find similar examples of a lot of plugin extension techniques in the Paper2D plugin as well, though it hasn’t yet been updated to take advantage of the new menu extension stuff, etc… yet even @head.

Cheers,

Thank you There’re so many good stuff in this video but as you said there’re out of date, Is there any plan for a new stream about creating engine/editor plugins?
