Hey @fx.anorak , Hello again ,
I tried several solutions to identify the cause of the problem.
The first thing I thought was that it could be caused by an incorrect loading phase for the Texture Graph plugin, but changing it did not solve the problem.
I also discovered that you don’t need to close Unreal Engine to reproduce it: simply closing the Texture Graph editor causes the Scalar node to disconnect from Levels, and the pin it was connected to disappears from the node, whether it’s Low, Mid, High, Out Low, or Out High. No errors appear in the Output Log.
I then tried connecting Scalar to other nodes, such as Threshold and NormalFromHeightMap, and I couldn’t reproduce the same issue. When you close and reopen those graphs, the connections remain intact. Therefore, the problem seems to be specifically related to the Levels node.
I also discovered that if you change the Levels mode from Manual to Auto Levels and then switch back to Manual, the pins and values reappear. Additionally, even when the values disappear from the Levels node’s interface, they are still available in the Deatils panel.
As a workaround, I recommend modifying the values directly in the Levels node, without using Scalar or other nodes as inputs, since the problem seems to be related to a bug in the plugin.
In summary, this appears to be a bug in the Texture Graph plugin that causes connections between Levels and other nodes, such as Scalar or Multiply, to break. I’m sharing these details in case they’re useful for your investigation and also so that, if you open a ticket, you can provide more information about the issue.
