System hang after rename

today i had 40% free memory and the engine hang 2x at a texture from kitedemo (openworlddemo collection).
it have a size 8192x8192 but appear as 5,3 kbyte in the info window.
means the engine freeze, my pc freeze and i can hit the reset button.
the first time i want drop this rock texture in my layer material blueprint.
the second time i just selected it by mouse and want make some notes about.
it was rockypath

long ago, i dropped a tree from this kitemap and can .
and i believe as i want used a skybox texture from this free kitedemo.
i will load this openworlddemo again and add it again to my project and see what happens…
but normal the download is verifyed my the launcher.

Hi ,

The problem is still that your PC does not meet our minimum recommended specs. You can see this on the kite demo download page here:

49547-kitedemo.png

The Kite Demo was designed specifically for high end machines, anything less than the minimum recommended specs is simply not strong enough to process it.

u do not listen to me, i want use ONE texture from this kite demo and had 40% free memory (1600 megabyte). also i said why the texture appear with 5 kilobyte.
its 8192x8192 pixels x 4byte. this is the byte count 268 435 456. its 256 megabyte.

next annoying screenshot of today i got at terrain with a blank default texture.
but this time i wait 10 minutes until the error report appear and send it.

sorry but today i have bad mood.

I’m sorry, but unfortunately your computer does not have the processing power to be able to adequately handle an 8192x8192 texture in the editor, especially Kite Demo assets. Landscapes also take a lot of GPU because the wireframes end up handling significantly more polys than many assets.

According to the error you have given me along with the type of work you are trying to accomplish when this occurs, I can confirm with certainty that this is a hardware issue. Specifically you will need to update these three pieces of your computer:

Processor: AMD Phenom™ 9550 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Video Card name: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

You already mentioned updating the memory, however the other two parts will have to be updated as well to get reasonable results, especially with any rendering activity that you attempt to do. I would recommend a minimum of these replacement parts, especially if you are trying to render any kite demo assets:

CPU: 4 cores (minimum i5) @ 2.8GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 680

Until this is updated, there is nothing I’m going to be able to do to further assist with rendering freezes because they are hardware dependent.

hello .
ok. can you tell me which amd driver
is stable to use with unreal editor?
my r265 is some month, i will look
if what max texture resolution is supported.
i still waiting for my ram.
about cpu i thing its not the problem.
regards.

It isn’t just the driver, the card is below spec. Please see here for additional information about other pc builds and how they handle the editor:

my performance, i had add it there too.
