Yo..been a few years, sorry for teh necro. Using a landscape straight out da box, meaning new level and selecting open world the landscape is as red like China. So click on the landscape, search for LOD 0 screen size set it to 10 instead of .5. You can use the visualizer to see the transition. Also try zooming in and out of the landscape to see what happens to the landscape. If you do decide to use the Runtime Virtual Texturing (RVT) method be to set up after you’ve shaped your landscape, but before you start applying complex materials. The reason for this is that RVT works best when it has a finalized terrain to cache shading data efficiently. Anyways…enjoy the little nom nom of sage wisdom this Unreal God has bestowed up thou!
Peace out!
