Hi Bigpierre666,
Are you using the binary version of the Engine installed by the Launcher, or did you build your Engine from source code? Do you see this error message when trying to open a project in the Editor?
Could you please provide the log file for your Engine? You can find this at:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine\4.4\Saved\Logs
Start the Editor to trigger the message that you described, then get the UE4.log file from the location above and upload a copy here.
