Startup movies on Android

Hello,
Did anyone else have this problem, and if yes, has anyone solved it?

I have startup movies which function perfectly on Windows, however, when I try it on android, they are jsut skipped.

Skippable is set to false, and wait for movies to end is set to true.

Hi Cube2222,

Can you make this a post on the answerhub in the bug reports section at http://answers.unrealengine.com so we can better assist you? Thank you!

Hi Cube2222,

Startup movies are not implemented for Android yet; we’re working on it.

Hi Babcock ,
is there any way that i can play movie in android or ios?
could i use this function in next version?

Has this been fixed yet? or is there a way to use source code to force it so I can pass the task to the programmers in the team?

Thanks

Hi RennJan,

Startup movies are supported on Android. Place your mp4 in your project’s Content/Movies directory, then in the Movies section of Project Settings, click on the + to add an element to Startup Movies and select your mp4. Movies will stop playing when the loading is complete unless you turn on the “Wait for Movies to Complete” checkbox. Turning on “Movies are Skippable” will allow early stopping of the playback by tapping the screen.

What if I want to play a movie like a “cutscene”, when I push a button, a 360º Video starts. I´m developing for GearVR, but when i push the button, the scene (that should play the 360º Video) is completely black. We are using Samsung S6 Verizon with the GearVR.
