Greetings
I would like to know why after exporting the PolySphere_Low mesh from Zbrush this appears correctly in all 3D software instead of in Unreal no? The problem concerns the cracks that become transparent.
You can see it well in the photos I have attached.
Waiting for any reply, I send you my best regards.
It could be reversed normals on the inside on the cracks. Check that they are facing the correct way to be visible.
as @3dRaven stated most likely the polys in the cracks have reversed normals, or are the cracks using a normal or height map? is the material setup correctly?
Thanks a lot for your reply. The normals are fine. I attach the photo and file of the mesh if anyone wants to have a look.
Thanks a lot for any help.
PolySphere_Low.fbx (1.7 MB)
ok heres the thing, i think you created it too small so the detail in the cracks maybe getting lost?
try making it bigger in blender then export it. its tiny in unreal so it may struggle with creating tris
When importing uncheck the option “Remove Degenerates”. It seems to strip certain triangles that are in your mesh.
You can go into the mesh, uncheck it and click reimport.
Thanks a lot. I don’t know how to thank you.
I increased the scale and now everything is fine.
Since you have been so kind I want to share with you what I created by myself hoping to make a nice short film. I am attaching the images.
Since I no longer have the strength to continue alone, I would like some advice on how to proceed.
Thanks again.
All this I did by myself modeling texture animation…
Nice work.
I would suggest looking into sub surface scattering (sss for short) to make the skin more life-like.
You could also consider experimenting with distance field shadows to try to get more detailed shadows for bigger scenes.
Looks pretty slick. I think listening to @3dRaven’s advice might be a good idea to add some extra detail and effect.
Have fun!
I am a former circus artist and I also worked as an actor and director.
I am also a person passionate about 3d graphics.
Several years ago I decided to make an animated film with Unreal.
A science fiction film that tells the story of a girl who is passionate about dance and who doesn’t follow her peers who are almost always busy with smartphones but she dedicates her free time to becoming a good dancer. Obviously the story can also be written differently . The reason for this choice was simple.
I’ve never seen animation done with extreme poses and movements of the characters made in 3d software. So I wanted to try to do it.
Obviously I’m not interested in the economic aspect but I’d like to finish the job I started a long time ago
During this journey I have found enormous difficulties above all because I am alone and work on an iMac which has many limitations.
I didn’t know it initially then discovered it during processing.
Now I’m almost out of strength and I don’t have the desire to continue this adventure because I realize that I won’t be able to reach a high level alone. I sincerely hope that I will find people interested in helping me finish this adventure.
Sorry for the inconvenience and many thanks for your attention.
Best regards
