Hello community! I’m a new guy in unreal, a French student and this year I learn unreal engine.
For my first Thread I would like to know if the student UE4 licence need to pay a Speedtree license.
I create a tree with speedtree Modeler and compile (with collider, texture…)
but I don’t arrive to import a .srt in my UE project, during the importation, I receive a message " import .srt fail ".
My license UE4 is activate, it’s sure.
So in Student version, do I need to pay a Speedtree license ?
Thanks a lot for your answers. Actually I work with the 4.6. and I test with default trees (binaries/ Speedtree modeler/content… ) and I fail to import the compile in UE.
For your link SE_JonF, just one thing is strange : in folder GAME, i don’t have Speedtree folder but in my (C:) I have this folder (with content and .srt mesh).
So I will try to test with UE 4.3 may be …
I’ m sure, so I cannot make mistakes because UE don’t take the .spm.
and I have a lot of tutorial for compile and import mesh on UE and I don’t see errors.
I try tonight and I return to say you.
Its okey, I found my problem. I have Speedtree 5.0 and this version is compatible with UE3 and no 4.
So I couldn’t use Speedtree, I need to pay a license for UE4.
thanks a lot for your help!
