i use rc with lots of other software like instant meshes, xnormal, 3dsmax etc…
there’s really not point trying to get everything done in one piece of software. esp if your trying to take it to games.
rc dose somethings really well, and other things not so well.
you just have to take the good bits and work around the not so good bits.
ReMake, which I used a lot until it expired, had EXCELLENT unwrapping skills.
I didn’t have to leave the application ever.
It used “Instant Meshes”.
Is it not possible to get a clear statement by the RC guys telling more about if they’re working on an improvement of the current situation?
Chris’ sentence “you just have to take the good bits and work around the not so good bits.” is an excellent statement.
But as a wanna-be-user I would like to see a statement by the RC guys telling me if this is perhaps solved in the next update or if it’s the same since 2 years and will most likely not be changed.
I mean some user experience interaction with the customer in spe might help.
Thank you.
Dear Alice,
Of course, the application has been being improved every single minute of our work hours with respect to variety of our users’ needs,
Unless playing with filtering of unnecessary parts and model simplification, together with other settings, is not enough for you here now (which usually is), I recommend you to try a combination with other post-processing software.
By the way, are you struggling just with this dataset regarding this issue?
Thanks for the info.
This is the first set that I spend much time with on RC.
Lubenko, can you suggest where I should send an alignment failing image dataset?
Should I just upload to Google Drive and post the link here?
You can use our contact form to send it to us privately (you will need to upload it somewhere and provide us with the link): https://www.capturingreality.com/Contact. If you do, please refer to this forum topic (the exact forum link), specify your needs, and write us the e-mail your RealityCapture license is assigned to.
However, unless it is private data, I highly recommend you to share the dataset with our community here.
