I have 32GB and I can comfortably open multiple visual studio instances and run the editor. Typical usage goes nowhere near 32GB more than that would just be a waste unless you have a specific use case for it.
For DDR4 speeds as far as I am concerned it is just a marketing gimmick with no actual value. Pick the lowest price ram from a reliable source regardless of speed.
