I’m unclear if the problem is within the saving or loading, or somehow both.
It would be a good starting point to know if the issue is with the second saving or the second loading to debug.
I would advise you to check, after the second saving, the date of modification of the save file on your disk. If the last modification date is related to the time of the second saving → the second saving is ok and the issue is with the second loading.
If the second saving do not update modification time of the file, the issue is with the second saving.
