Retargetted to UE5 mannequin. Fixing slightly off proportions.

Greetings!

I’ve spent the past couple of days retargetting my custom character to the UE5 mannequin. The overall result is pretty decent. I however ran into issues regarding some of the proportions and animations from the marketplace.

This issue is already somewhat visible between Manny and Quinn. For example, using a sword draw animation, Quinn’s hands already don’t perfectly align with the handle of the blade. E.g. hands crossing each other, rather than grabbing the handle, whereas with my custom character the issue is even more prominent.

Another example is the wider hip movement of the mannequins. I can’t properly explain it as it should technically only affect the bones but some of the animations I tried out made my custom character’s hips appear wider.

The basic locomotion and all marketplace animations however work decently well enough. It’s mostly just that due to my custom character’s more skinny and smaller dimensions some of the animations simply look ever so slightly off.

I am now wondering what the most time efficient solution is. I’ve considered manually adjusting each of the animations by hand but especially in regards to some of the combat animations which require pretty much flawlessly transition in between one another it could be troublesome.
