Ok I see that, we need to do some updates to the lightning system. I will work on it week but we are a bit busy with preparations for GDC, will keep you updated.
thanks a lot!
Ok I pushed a fix for (strikes and illumination going through solid geometry). After GDC I will revisit the storms system as there are some things in need of an update.
Thanks!
NOTE: It will take some time for the fix to be ready to download, the build server is quite busy atm.
Hi!
I correctly understood that you will release the version without the bug after the GDC? (the latest version on the Simul site - trueSKYUE4Plugin_4.19.0_4.1a.40_x64 - is not fixed)
Please compile the for the current version of Unreal Engine 4.19.0 (I have in vain updated UE4 - now the does not start - look at screenshot).

The new version is ready to download!
That error there looks like a version miss match, if you just continue, wont it let you just use it?
The plugin was now able to start, thanks!
I installed version “trueSKYUE4Plugin_4.19.0_4.1a.45_x64” (March 16), but the bug with translucent lightning did not go away
Hello,
There is some way to tell the parameter “Translucency Sort Priority”.
I have a problem with OceanProject when the camera is over clouds, and its seems that the solution is that parameter or something like that as NilsonLima explains.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, Have you been able to try the last versions? I think it should be definitely there.

If that is rendered as a transparent mesh, you will need to modify the shader, refer to the true sky transparent material.
Hey, I’m trying to install the plugin for UE4.19, but it won’t show up in the editor. The installer doesn’t give me any error messages and the “Simul”/“” folders do appear in my UE4 directory, but the plugin still isn’t listed in my installed plugins and thus can’t be enabled. I tried reinstalling the plugin and even reinstalling the engine, but it didn’t make any difference.
I noticed that any plugin installer I can currently download from your website has a file size of only 15-20MB, compared to the 180-200MB of the installers I downloaded previously. I guess that might be part of the problem?
I tried trueSKYUE4Plugin_4.19.0_4.1a.69_x64 version, and the bug with translucent lightning is gone. But now there is a problem with the lack of lighting inside the clouds when lightning strikes. Previously, it worked

I pushed a fix for the in-cloud illumination.
I agree that your second picture looks a bit off. Maybe you can try playing around with the tonemaper settings? There’s also a few places (from ) where you can change brightness eg. sky layer.
Thanks a lot! Now it works but the lighting in the clouds is still shining through the trees (partially obscured by them, but still more translucent)

Could you try tweaking the “Depth Sampling Pixel Range”?
I tried to change from 0.01 to 4 - the result is missing.
Also a passing question - how to adjust rain bands? In the cloud settings, the parameter “Rain Streaks” is set to 1, but the rain bands are not visible in the distance.
I am working on a system where we can change the latitude, longitude, time of year, and the direction of true north in 4.18 and 4.19. For system it seems that changing these values via construction script does not truly work. I have tested that the values are being changed and they are, but nothing in the scene is changing to correspond with the new values.
It appears that Set Sun Rotation and the date values are either incorrect or just completely broken altogether. Would it be possible to join in on a slack channel or email chain or something in order to remedy asap? My main goal with the system is to control via Details Panel in UE4 (of a custom blueprint actor) the Hour, Time of Year, Lat/Long as accurate to real world applications as possible.
I apologize for hijacking thread a little, but I have been having a hard time finding solutions.
Please send a PM with your email and I’ll invite you to the slack channel.

Yeah that’s a known bug, we need to fix that. I will check it week.
