[RELEASED] for UE4: Complete Sky and Weather System

Yeah you are actually right, post processing helps to deal with sun exposure, but anyways light function keeps acting really weird. To give you another example, I downloaded today’s build from the website, and now clouds shadows seem to be fine, no more tiling but i can see only the shadows from the clouds. And objects have no more shadows. However in certain camera angles i can notice some shadows on the edge of a screen.

Like in , as soon as i lift the camera up a bit, object shadows just dissapear, and that doesn’t happen if i don’t use light function

nevermind, bug is gone

when it will be available for version 4.13 ?

Hi,

It should be available in the next few days or so

I just updated to the latest version for 4.13 (binary installer trueSKYUE4Plugin_4.13.0_4.1.322_x64.exe ) and have encountered an.
All I’ve done is updated and switched out my old regular UE Skylight for a trueSkylight and now when It gets completely dark i still see a lot of way too bright reflection on various meshes.
If I set the time to day before playing in editor and then pass the time until it gets dark the reflection on various meshes gets just as bright as during they day. If i set it to night and then PIE they’re not showing reflections during night and even if I pass time to day and then go to night again it still works fine.

is a screenshot of behind our character during the night when it’s completely dark except for the reflections acting up.

What might be causing ?

Hi ,

Can you bring up the “Show Cubemaps” overlay and post a screenshot? Does it improve over time, or stay broken?

Sure, is another capture.

The cubemap slowly turns dark but doesn’t seem to affect it no matter how long I let it run.

For some reason the UE forum refuses to let me attach it so I just uploaded to imgur time.

Edit
If I increase the intensity of the TrueSkyLight these lit up areas become brighter despite everything else being completely black during the night.

I need to update the lighting (skylight) in editor for making a video sequence, how can I do ?

Hi,

Are you referring to the fact that the True Sky Light doesn’t have a “recapture scene” button?

If so I’m not 100% sure why is the case, so I’ll see if can be implemented. Right now however you’ll need to do via blueprint.

Basically yeah! It would just be really handy for composing scenes to have the recapture button.

I will make a note of and see what we can do

Amazing thanks for looking into it!

I still really need help with . I’ve tried everything I can think of and nothing helps.

Thanks!

Hi,

Apologies for the slow communication.

I will speak to and see what he thinks as I’m not too sure why you are getting behaviour.

Is the regular Sky Light working okay?

looks !

I agree with Infinite_Render, (on pg 1) it seems very unfair to the start up people and nonprofit users. I suggest instead of a yearly license though that you chose one that echoes URE itself, for not everyone wants to use URE for profit, Personally I want to use it to make a webcomic out of it, and perhaps a game one day but the webcomic for sure.

I do have a question though. Does the sky **have **to be blue? My comic will have a lilac sky, the equivalent of our blue because of unique environmental changes.

Thank you !

Yes, when I disable the light and enable the regular sky light it works fine.
No settings I try seems to have any effect.

Guys, is the github working? I try to access it but it tells me Page Not Found. I have linked the accounts (I can pull the nVidia branches of Unreal Engine just fine), both on Epic’s site and on Simul’s account. I need the source to rebuild the plugin under VXGI.

You can alter the colour of the light wavelengths to get different looking skies.

I’ve let know so we’ll try and get sorted.

Strange. I’d also like to know if anyone else is having !

Great, thank you!

Hi again,

Basically isn’t possible (the manual recapture button) and won’t be implemented. The True Sky Light doesn’t do any manual capturing at all. Apologies!
