Thank you for the answer about Macs , I’ll give it a try tomorrow - unfortunately I have just a MacBook Pro that is a bit slow to compile the Editor hahaha
On Windows it runs really nice

Hi everybody;
Since I am newbie with UE4 and Visual Studio
I need help (step by step may be) telling how to use the to grab the codes for nice tool AHR…
I did opened the https://.com//AHRUnrealEngine but didn’t know what button should be clicked at that page…
Thanks
EDIT:
I think I had succeeded to download the (AHRUnrealEngine-4.4.zip) :); Extracting it gave me a (Engine) folder & 7 files…
But still do not know what is the next step…!! Shall I merge the downloaded files with the (UnrealEngine-4.4.3-release) folder…!!?
The video posted by **** didn’t tell about that in details… it jumped directly to the Visual Studio screen…
So; a blind man here needs a leader
I find it fascinating what a single guy can do with programming skills. Wish I had some. lol
It is a combination of Talent & Persistent
Recording of my first test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZCixsAzDAY&=youtu.be
Unfortunately Stats were not shown when recording through matinee - perhaps I should make another try (although is just a simple map).
There is also some bug visible - when sphere slides away from center of the scene it stops to emit light - I’ve double checked volumes - they are ok, also playing in viewport doesn’t generate such bug.
I am learning how to use right now. If it is possible I will use with the Landscape demo and will give you detailed numbers.
Run setup.bat, then overwrite if asked, then run GenerateProjectFiles.bat, then open the UE4.sin in Visual Studio, then you can rightclick on UE4 and build.
Haha…very nice man! I will be away for the weekend, but I will definitely help spamming you with feedback after I got my hands on the new release And thanks for mentioning you brothers in arms for testing
Cheers!
Thanks for your time:)
Unfortunately; I couldn’t find the setup.bat…
Anyway; before starting with your instructions… I’m repeating my question… Shall I merge the downloaded files (AHR code) with the (UnrealEngine-4.4.3-release) folder…!!?
OR what…!!?
The setup.bat is in AHRUnrealEngine-release folder after extraction if downloaded as a zip(one under clone icon).
You don´t need to merge anything.
So; I should downloaded the “AHRUnrealEngine-release”…instead of “AHRUnrealEngine-4.4” OR “AHRUnrealEngine-4.5”…which I was working on… and both of them has no setup.bat… LOL
BTW; does running the “setup.bat” file leads to “Downloading process”… which seems to take many hours…!!?
Thanks for your patience
Hi , regarding your repo why didnt you forked UnrealEngine from Epic, and applied your code on top of it? instead of creating your own? could even be against Epic contract, so i thought i would say, it also makes easy for people tracking multiple repos, just add another source and switch branchs easily :). I am going to try it on so am unsure if it will work or not, i didnt had time to do it though, anyway, great stuff, i hope Epic hires you or give a grant.
Yes, and do not overwrite files, so no if it asks, same with the VXGI branch.
Actually, I couldn’t do that, cause when I forked Epic’s repo, it was private, so my forked repo is private, and you can’t make public private repo. The only way was to clone it, and push it to another repo.
@ , is the sample project you promised me uploaded? Juts asking becauase I didn’t see see anything added in the page. I am really impatient to try your magical solution.
Hi again…
I do not know if I am doing the right installation process…
01- Downloaded the “AHRUnrealEngine-release.zip”
02- Extracted the downloaded zip file
03- Ran the “setup.bat” file… here is what I’ve got till moment
means I’ve to wait the whole day , may be…!!?
Depends on your connection, I sometimes download several branches daily, and it takes 10-20 min with a 50Mbps connection.
Hey ,
You should update your first post with new informations (download link, video etc).
thats is how it is supposed to work, its on Epic’s interest to have anyone wishing to download their code to have a contract with epic, i mean its Epic’s business anyway
I’ve been following thread since the beginning and it’s come a long way, good effort!
Are you allowed to make the repo public? Normally you have to be logged in to your linked account to see UE4 repos.
