That’s problem. It won’t even load up and make it to page that has market for you to download sample games, update things and all that other stuff. On my Mac it makes it to that screen and works just fine but is a bit slow when I run games so not really sure why it’s not loading that screen up on my PC
yeah I did all that and stuff is updated so maybe I need a better graphics card?
It’s almost certainly cause, but I’m checking with developers now to be sure. Thanks!
Hey ,
I’m sorry to say it, but your graphics card is definitely causing problem here. It’s an old card that is below spec. Even if you could get Launcher to open, you probably wouldn’t be able to use editor anyway. We are looking into fixing issue so that lower end machines can open Launcher, but it won’t help you run editor with that card.
Best,
Ok I’ll have to upgrade then and hopefully that takes care of this. Thanks for all time you took helping with this
Hi, today I faced very same problem. I have UDK and several other 3D program installed inside an old machine and all runs smoothly, but Unreal 4 does not start at all. It fails silently. Log is about same reported here. Thanks for this post, I’ll try update my video card as well.
— Old Machine
AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core

NVidia 6800GT
Windows 8 Pro
DirectX 11
Runs: UDK, Rhinoceros, Blender, Unity3d
launcher does not give you option to load as administrator
On Windows, you can right-click desktop shortcut for Launcher to choose option.
