Playing sound at begin play causes crash in packaged mobile projects

I need you to provide me the logs from the devices that it’s working on and the device it is not working on. I need you to label each log with the type of device you’re actually on so I know which phones are working and which ones aren’t and it’ll also eliminate the confusion of whether or not the S5 is also having an issue.

Thank you!

Hey Saeedc,

Hi

yes I am still experiencing this issue. you said I must test it on others devices but I have not had a to do this.

but now I tested this issue on Galaxy S3 GT-19300 and this also crashes after splash screen due to playing sound on begin play and using ambient sound component.

here is the logs [][1]

So until now (Galaxy S5, Galaxy S3, Galaxy prime and LG sunset) are reported with this issue

I need time to test it on more devices if it is necessary

Why does my Android app crash on open? - Mobile - Epic Developer Community Forums

Saeedc,

I have tested this out on a Samsung Galaxy S5 and have reproduced the crash. We’re looking into it now and I’ll update you once I have more information.

Thanks!

Hi

has not this bug been fixed yet? I am still using .0

I am afraid that you have forgotten this post

Saeedc,

This post has not been forgotten about. We are investigating this issue further. We’re looking into upgrading devices to see if it’s simply a driver error.

I have tested this on a Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Note 4 and a Galaxy S6 and have not ran into any issues on .2.

  • What is the highest version of the Android OS have you tested on?
  • Is this only occurring on Samsung Devices?
  • Is this still occurring for you in .2?

Thank you!

I tested it again on galaxy S5 and S3 GT on .2 and this issue still exists.

before 4.11 was released every thing had been fine with sounds in packaged mobile projects on S3 and S5.

if you test it on 4.10 on a galaxy S5 you will see that it is not S5’s fault

it sounds not to be only for Samsung devices somebody else said in this post that was having this problem on LG Sunset

.

I found something

I packaged a project only for android ETC2 including ambient sounds it won’t crash and plays ambient sounds on begin play.

but I don’t know why. how is the relation between texture formats, HDRness, sound files and crashes.

Android ATC = won’t crash but really bad material quality.

Android ASTC = won’t crash

Android PVRTC won’t . bad material quality

Android ETC1 Won’t (#_#)

Android DXT won’t .

Android ETC2 won’t

Android Multi will. :)))))DDDDD)))).

WTH is going on. my device supports all texure formats but not Multi.

Finally: this bug is related to Android Multi packaged projects

Hi

some one else is having this problem on ATC [][1]

the number of people who have this problem on different devices is increasing

Saeedc,

I have put in a for this issue. UE-31981 has been assigned to applications crashing when packaged in multi on Android with sound beginning on play. I will update this post once I have additional information.

Thanks!

I am still encountering this bug in .3 w/ Samsung Galaxy s6 and s6 Edge. Android mobile Multi build consistently crashed on load; building ASTC only immediately fixed the problem.

yes. I have already mentioned that this bug is only for multi android projects.
it works for me with every formats but not multi

UE-31981 has been fixed, looks like it’s scheduled for 4.13 right now.

Thanks!
