Override - Cooperative Mecha Arena

Hi!

My name is Murilo, i’m here to present you guys the current project of our studio The Balance Inc.

The Balance Inc is a small game studio which has been around since 2012. We’ve tackled 2D and 3D games for mobile, web and PC. We’ve been developing Override for about two years, and now we decided it would be a good time to show the community what we have.

In OVERRIDE the player must pilot a massive robot in a completely manual way, controlling its limbs and systems. The game offers challenges such as duels, with each robot being controlled either by a single player or a full team, or competitions to see who can wreak more havoc on the city in a given time. Players may try to survive several hordes of enemies or engage in highly comical missions, such as trying to get rid of the pesky media which insists on shooting only their bad deeds.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Full fledged combat system, each limb with a variety of strikes and unique combinations.
  • Total control of the robot subsystems on the player’s hands.
  • Local and online multiplayer, supporting up to 4 players controlling the same bot on local splitscreen and an online mode with up to 8 players.
  • Exploration oriented player experience, with several destructible environments.
  • Astounding artwork, inspired by the mecha genre, with action figure’s style combined with a rich and detailed environment.

GAME MODES

  • Duel: Battles of up to 4 players locally (with splitscreen) or up to 8 players online, divided in 2 teams.
  • **Rampage: **Compete to see who can cause the highest casualties toll and property damage before a certain amount of time as you lay the city to waste.
  • **Paparazzi: **One player controls a broadcast TV minivan with the goal of shooting the robot, while avoiding to be stepped on or caught by the team controlling the robot. Depending on the robot’s action, the minivan gains more audience. The robot wins by destroying the minivan, while the minivan wins by reaching the audience peak.
  • **Horde: **Survive waves of mechanical enemies, but watch out for collateral damage as the citizens may end up seeing you as a villain.
