Opened my current wip in 4.71 and it crashed

Ok, try something for me if you can. Launch the editor with -notexturestreaming and see if the project loads correctly. Looking at today’s callstack, it appears to be landscape related, and possibly similar to this: 4.7 crash after loading level - Programming & Scripting - Epic Developer Community Forums
That bug was fixed but it may be something related.

THe one object, tan /brorwn in the scene is a actual mesh not a terrain segment.

Allthe white, is the missing terrain that’s not being drawn, so it seems the project copy > 4.7.3, is having problems with the terrain ?

Its definitely terrain releated as noted above.

Also and this is an edit: my editor is binary, not github, and IM not crashing at all, its just not drawing the terrain, and I get really low FPS as noted. I have a huge 4096 terrain, using 63x63 and 2 components as I think the editor recommended.

Not sure you saw my last comment in this section, but the ‘fix’ didn’t help, but its highly likely it is terrain.

I hope you have some more ideas, while I guess its not urgent I would still like to be using the latest engine if possible.

From Neighborlee: I fixed this mess finally, by ( forgot I could do it as I haven’t done so in ages) exporting terrain as raw16 in 4.6.1, creating new project in 4.7.3 and importing raw16 there and so far so GOOD

The playerstart issues also seems fixed magically and I have no idea why, maybe something was corrupt, who knows.
