Figured it out, it was a very touchy set of assets in the asset manager, I had to fix that by deleting the old version, and re-adding my maps, changed the type to levels and re-labeled the tab levels. Also I changed on maps and modes, there is something under default maps, the fourth option down(first 2 are the default map for editor and for build) was blank, changed it to level entry. between the 2 it fixed the open level issue.
