I work as a professional 3D artist and architectural visualizer.
Lately I’ve been testing Unreal Engine for mobile delivery — particularly targeting iPhone (Metal / iOS) with high-end real-time scenes.
One of the biggest hurdles is the process of adapting a desktop-oriented scene (SM5, Nanite, Lumen, complex materials) to a mobile-friendly format. Right now, it takes a lot of manual tweaks, from changing materials and lighting, to disabling features Unreal knows won’t work on iOS.
It would be incredibly useful to have a one-click tool inside Project Settings, like:
“Make Mobile-Friendly for iOS” , which would:
-
Disable Nanite, Lumen, RayTracing
-
Switch rendering settings to Forward Shading, Mobile HDR, etc.
-
Warn about unsupported materials or replace them with a fallback
-
Enable Metal RHI and Mobile Preview
Even as an optional plugin, this would save a lot of time and let more artists deliver on iOS easily — especially with the rise of Apple Vision Pro and real-time AR projects.
Thank you for considering this
