There’s another problem with the Rough Grass. The wind doesn’t work on the desktop version.

Thanks for the bug report coreyx. We’ve been able to reproduce it and hope to have a fix soon. Anyone who’s purchased the Rough Grass model will be able to download it again once it’s fixed.

I’ve noticed you can get away with a fair few trees, but when you cover the landscape in a lot of foliage (Grass) the performance drops through the floor. I bought the rough grass and it’s also black at one side.

I’ll modify in modeller, but these were my first impressions when ultilising the pre-made foliage.

We have a problem with Rough_Grass_Desktop_Cluster once it is painted over a larger testing area. The perfomance dropped from 60 FPS down to 17.06 FPS as soon as the playerdummy entered the area.

The Desktop Cluster has 720 Triangles (180 in LOD1). Would you recommend to use the mobile version instead for dense meadows and to use the Desktop version only in areas were is no mass population of grass?
I fear the same problem will hit us once we work on the forested areas.

Do you have any hints for us how to deal with that problem?

Unfortunately, the End User License Agreement for the free UE4 Model Bundle prohibits such a distribution of those assets. I’m sorry about the inconvenience, but perhaps you could just refer recipients of your project to that product page?

It does! I think UE has native support going forward.

That is pretty promising. FBX support, , Blueprint… is really some good tech. I have tried out many techs but is really something :slight_smile:
