Animation is not a beginner thing.
Out of all the programs out there, all of them have various uses and obvious pitfalls. There isn’t one that is outright better than another.
Blender is free, the animation stuff on it works for the most part.
Maya isnt free, but the industry likes it better.
Houdini is somewhat free, but im not sure about animating characters with it.
Pixologic got bought out by a predatory company and is now selling subscriptions like Adobe, so you can never own it, which = forget about it even existing.
3ds max is also not free - and im not sure about the latest versions, but the old ones are a bit though to learn as far as animation goes.
Whichever you pic, the scenario is always the same.
You need to know what you are doing and what is what before you can even start to consider making actual animations.
Once you get the jist of it, its either really hard if you want realism, of a cakewalk if you just don’t care…
