Same problem here. Got it solved.
Having 7 render nodes with exact issue as described.
On my side - reinstalling nVidia drivers helped.
After reinstall - just do Resolution, EDID and sync. ANd You will see hardware composed flip. Option 8 in driver utility do not turn on as it is only for debug purposes. Sync connection with nodes just follow on documentation. Hope it helps
