Nanite Skeletal Mesh Crashing in 5.5.0

On some of my skeletal meshes whenever I enable nanite it will crash with “index out of bounds” array error. sometimes this happens in the skeletal mesh editor and sometimes it happens when they are rendered in a level. if I disable nanite on those skeletal meshes then it stops crashing so I know thats the issue.

Has anyone else encountered this and found a fix?

A fix for this is I disabled LOD assets before creating the nanite, when I did that it worked. I think it’s because the LOD asset was selecting bones to be removed for lower LODs
