I’ve read about it quite a bit and have some questions regarding a current project.
It seems like I’m not having any issues assigning Nanite to static meshes I have in a project. They’re 4k resolution. I assign the Nanite checkbox, save, and they still appear normally Should Nanite be working for them? How to verify this?
On my Landscape material (Unreal Sensei’s) Auto Landscape, when I assign this as Nanite, the landscape disappears. I’ve read some threads here about this that indicates that material might not be compatible with Nanite. I’ve noticed that at MegaScans that it’s when you select a 8k surface texture, that is classified as Nanite. So related questions:
*Is 8k texture required for a nanite landscape?
- If I upgrade the Auto material to 8k textures would it be compatible with nanite, or does it need to be reworked to become nanite compatible?
*Do Static Meshes, need to be 8k to to be nanite compatible?
*How can I tell if a landscape actually is using Nanite?
Thanks!
Bonus Question about Collision- When planning to assign meshes to the foliage tool, in my case rocks, I’m noticing that for whatever reason, these rocks have no collision assigned. I’ve played with it, but is there a way to bulk assign collision instead of assigning it singly to each one? Thanks again.
