my quake movement controller isnt working and its likely something obvious that will make me feel stupid

All my get control rotations are broken cause the target cant be set to self?
This blueprint (self) is not a Controller, therefore ’ Target ’ must have a connection.

You are getting the incorrect “GetControlRotation” function. The target should be pawn.

Check if you have the context sensitive enabled.
