This was part of my work given to me by my mentor after finishing my second course from Coursera by Epic Games. I have learned a lot from this course. I cannot wait to make my first game after finishing all courses there. Apologies in advance because I will be asking questions a lot in this forum whenever I’m stuck or frustrated
Hi there @GeekManGames,
Hope you’re well and having a great week so far
First of all, congrats on releasing your first project! Secondly, this looks beautiful from what I can see. Especially the lighting! Do you plan to share a video of the environment sometime soon?
Hi @PresumptivePanda thank you so much for the kind words to my first project. I actually don’t know how to do screen recording . My knowledge in pc is low and I am doing my best to learn but the learning process has been overwhelming to be honest. I will upload it once I know how to and I also don’t know to upload the video here
My mood is little bit spicy right now to learn anything new cuz somehow I am given low score in peer to peer examination for this submission. Coursera and my mentor clearly said that either screenshots or screen recording is fine so I don’t know what I am doing wrong for failing cuz the people who failed did not gave me feedbacks. Apologies for being spicy but I will learn and upload the video once I pass the test.
@PresumptivePanda I just passed my second test with same materials I submitted that failed me first time Like I promised, here’s the video and I learned how to screen record it immediately after I passed my test!!! I had to compress the video using HandBrake, quality might be poor
Hey again @GeekManGames,
Thanks for taking the time to respond back It seems like a lot of skill and time has gone into creating this environment - especially for a first project. My first attempt ended up being a pile of different grasses thrown on top of one another with no lighting so I’d say you have me beat
I hope we get to see more of your art around here. Good luck with re-submitting your exam!
Good morning @PresumptivePanda and thanks for your kind words. I honestly just downloaded free asset from FAB and played around it and watched some youtube videos to finish it and anyone can make this under an hour to be honest so I kinda cheated by looking things up I bet you are professional now. I have asked few people already this but haven’t gotten any response but If you have time, could you please make a video showing and teaching me building a nice simple world by exporting free materials from FAB adding environmental sounds like birds, background music, footstep sounds and adding assets small lake, rocks, fire, few lights and few old buildings in a forest and blend material. I am currently using UE 5.5.1
Thank you
There is a General > Tutorial & Course Discussions category that is filled with lots of insightful tutorials. Maybe there’s something in there that’s already made!
