This is looking incredible. Awesome job! waiting for ur this tutoial !

Update here!

First of all thank you so much for your kind words! It helps me keep up the motivation

Regarding the prototype, I have been updating way less videos than I was used to because of work / learning reasons.

I have more work but I also jumped in the AI Behavior sytems and it’s taking waaaay longer than other stuff to learn from scratch (at least for me). I’m starting to get the first results but nothing fancy to show for now. I followed the entire epic’s series about “making game AI ready”, it helped a lot.

Basically I have AI’s running around and do some simple stuff with several BT’s. I got this optimized regarding performance I believe and I still have to work through multiplayer issues.

Hope to update soon to show off some nice stuff

EDIT: Now I need to figure a way to build a “wait for animation completed” AI Task (properly).

Update!

My work project takes a lot of time and consequently I work far less on this Action-RPG prototype. Nevertheless I had the whole week-end free so I was able to make some improvements!

I’m planning on pausing this project for several weeks because of the work. But I learnt a lot and I will still be keeping it in a corner, ready to jump in whenever I got the time.

Here is the video showcasing my week-end’s work:

I made a little progresses. Notably added a Urn destructible and real destructible mechanisms.

The project is officially paused, even if I still make some improvements here and there from time to time I won’t be updating 15 videos a week like I was.

Little video report:

Some progress here despite the project being paused :stuck_out_tongue:

Waypoint system & multiplayer level streaming.

I still have some stuff to figure out tied to the fact that a level that is not loaded server-side won’t be “playable” by the client. So it looks like the Server has to have every levels loaded but not visible.

Massive update!

I took the time to work on the project no matter what, I’m too eager to make progress.

I added lots of sounds, started to fill the dungeon with some interactive elements, made the whole dungeon loop logic & lot more that is barely not visible.

Still following! Is that the map overlay I am seeing?

Yes I’m displaying the minimap from time to time!

Thanks for your support, highly appreciated

I created a Trello for my prototype.

First post updated.

If any artist stepping by is interested in jumping on this project, you’re welcome to contact me

What i would love to see (even if it would mean switching to Gamepad) was couch Multiplayer for a game like this.

Update!

I’ve done few game design metric adjustments (currently the prototype is literally almost blank of game design), some code fixes, added some sounds, made doors a little bit better looking, cleaned up the initialization time and added a static loading screen, fixed lots of problem with Client’s enemy visibility (and there are still remaining I believe) and created a whole new enemy & wealth items (sarcophagus, urns & stuff) spawn system.

Next steps are NPC’s, dialog & quest system. Going to be a lot of fun

A friend of mine told me that as well but unfortunately it is the one feature that won’t make it into my list. I won’t take the time to rebuild my current systems to allow gamepad controllers right now, and if I ever do I will just restart such a project from scratch which is not on my plan either. But it is definitely something I’m interested in and that I’ll keep in mind for the future.

Update!

I’ve worked on a Quest System and imported some animations made by a friend (that might end up on the Marketplace really soon as well!).

Here are the videos to show the work I’ve done in the past 3 days (+ tons of fixes as mentioned above).

Update here!

I worked hard on the project this week-end. I forgot that I decided to put the project on pause and took it back with my bear hands.
