We would certainly have a use for the plugin if you released an early version that only covered moving and manipulating objects in the world (i.e. not worrying about sharing assets, creating new blueprints, etc). We just need to be able to collaboratively edit a single level in a rather basic way. That would be so useful! We’d absolutely pay for that.
Hey guys! Yeah I was in Brazil for a few weeks! Right now I am consulting a student project but working on MultiEdit whenever I can! Fixing stuff for 4.8. Also building a lock system, so you can only change stuff that is not locked by another user.
Hey everyone, I have been silent on this thread but that doesn’t mean I am not working on MultiEdit. First I want to mention that I am going to Epic HQ in the next few week and work as an intern for 5 months (not on MultiEdit ). But that probably have impact on the development of MultiEdit.
I still believe in the concept of MultiEdit, but a while ago I had a skype call with and he also mentioned it in a twitch steam that it is really hard to make this concept “fool proof”. I agree on this with him. UE4 is not build for a concept like this, that doesn’t mean it is impossible though!
Anyway, I have been refactoring the old code and it is now working on the newer versions of the engine.
Yeah I have property synching, it’s kind of a hack and it needs to be optimized, but it’s working. Right now I just need to fix a really annoying bug that is hard to debug.
