The official stance is that it’s either-or. Neither approach is better or the other, and different projects use different approaches. I’m hesitant to require the inclusion of both because of the additional labor involved, but I think one way to help minimize issues like this is to modify the Marketplace catalog entry to indicate clearly at the top and in the technical specifications whether it’s root motion, in-place motion, or both. I’d be curious to hear the group’s thoughts on that. Ultimately all we want is to set clear expectations of what you’re getting when you make a purchase.
