Mesh created from E57 laser scans...wrong scale/wrong origin

Hi jwa

When bringing the OBJ into 3ds max, and also bringing in the scan data from ReCap, I noticed that the scale of the OBJ was off by 3.28084 (meter to foot conversion), and the origin was not the same as the E57 that was used to generate it.

  1. Set Scientific format on export

  1. Check the UNITS on import of the data in 3DS MAX and if they are converted to another units or not.

For proper placement are the scans georeferenced or not ?
when you import the data, select all and then set this setting to them and just then use ALIGNMENT
