Material Issue

Hi guys im a new Unreal Engine user and have come across an issue that I can’t seem to figure out. After searching for almost a week I have decided to ask you folks and see if anyone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction please.

So im trying to create a car animation and have an asset created and rigged in blender and imported to Unreal. Ive added a control rig and the animation works perfect. I have purchased an automotive materials pack of marketplace but it doesn’t seem to be working properly. I have clear coat enabled but I can only see the material where the light hits the car which is really bugging me out. there are no other textures/UV assigned to this.

im really stuck and really need your guys help.

Could you post some screenshots of what you are seeing? What kind of lights are you using to light your scene?

Carpaint materials need direct light for the “base coat” of the paint to really show up. If you only have reflection cards in the scene, or your HDRI doesn’t have a particularly bright sun, the paint won’t be illuminated much.

When you are lighting a car, direct light like Spotlights should be used to show the car’s shape, and reflection cards, softboxes should be used to accentuate everything.

For example here -
Only a diffused white HDRI lighting the scene:

With a large softbox overhead emitting a lot of light:

And finally, with direct lighting added (spotlights):
