Quake Champions Slasher - Crouch Slide

Hey everyone, I want to try to implement a “slasher” like crouch slide from Quake into my game, but don’t know how to get started. If anyone knows how to do it, or has any advice on how to get started, that would be amazing. Many Thanks, Chalm
