Mac OSX

SierraZuluS, with more votes is increased the interest of this feature. We are monitoring the interest with these votes.

I want to use RealityCapture but can’t because it doesn’t run on macOS. I’d love a Mac version!

I keep posting here cuz I need that MAC support. lol Only PC in the house is my sons and its full of games. The IOS app will be cool but that added detail from the full app is what I want. Please put this as a top priority for the tech team. I know how Apple can be a pain to develop for but…

Mac Version Please!!! My MacStudio Ultra would be great for processing!

BennyViola8504, thank you for your vote.

Also add my vote for a Mac version to your trash bin. A very big and old trash bin you have. It’s remarkable how this topic has been dragging for years unresolved, and still no answer from your side to wether you have the intention to make a Mac version or not. We love your product thus the persistence

I have no doubt you’re just waiting for ONE MORE VOTE before you finally fall out of your Reality Capture CANNOT CHANGE trance and give us some Mac Software.

Seriously though, you do know you don’t HAVE to produce an exact copy of Reality Capture to offer robust, fully ported and relevant, feature rich photogrammetry for the Mac. The fact that you’ve waited 5 years because the way Reality Capture works is dependent on some specific Windows libraries is mental. You’ve frog potted yourself here. Take a look at PhotoCatch, specifically, the results it can produce in 20 minutes of render time. It’s made by stringing together stuff that’s built in the Mac OS and iOS.
You have the expertise, user base, and market positioning to produce something incredible - it. doesn’t. have. to. be. reality capture. for. Mac.

It’s almost cooler if it isn’t. Let the Mac built in software shine where it shines, build towards general use but step on the gas with things that Apple does really well.

It’s OK to build from scratch, reuse technique, abandon all old code.

Write something new, embrace AI and iOS, and make the world a better place by just going for it.

Reality Capture is pretty great, but Photogrammetry is mostly about taking good pictures. You could focus on assisting with that and jazzing up any use cases that can benefit from lighting fast render speeds. You are of course planning around a full featured Mac Photogrammetry platform but gizmos are pretty great. With the right eyes, and an open yet free mind, you can kick the gates open and let the apple users in from the cold.

Also please add my vote to this 5 year poll, print up the names of everyone who voted, and have a plaque made. Hang it in the waiting room at your offices, if you have one, commemorating the skilled waiting your apple customers have done. They’re the real heroes here. At least until you get going with all this!

OK thanks

Well… hoping that I don’t have to wait five years, add my vote to the pole

Hello, I would very much like to have a mac version now. I would use it when Im out in the field. Instead of flying home to my windows workstation I can sit in my hotel room and get a good preview on my Macbook Max. Now I have to use that other software that is not as good. :slightly_smiling_face:
