As a seller, I like the idea of the license tier system, however the way it is currently implemented is counterproductive. The $100.000 gross revenue limit for the personal tier is way too low.
When I charge extra for a product, I want to target larger companies, that I know will make good money using my product. Not some indie-team, that barely makes ends meet.
I don’t think it makes sense, that a tiny company or solo developer has to pay the same amount for a product, as a $10.000.000 company.
I also think this leads to people buying the personal license, even though they would require the professional license, since they can’t afford the higher prices and there is no way of actually enforcing it. Or they simply not buy the product at all, which is even worse for the seller.
The gross revenue limit for a personal license should either be set higher, or what I think would be an even better solution, would be a 3-tier system, that features a personal license, an indie license, and a professional license.
